Sadly the Musical & Amicable Society Concert has been cancelled. They are hoping to reschedule, so we can look forward to that during these difficult times.
On the Saturday of the Easter weekend, members of the Musical & Amicable Society are joined by Scottish born mezzo-soprano Nicola Wemyss in a programme of reflective music for Eastertide by Purcell, Telemann, Handel and Reading.
Kate Fawcett and Martin Perkins revived the original Musical and Amicable Society, founded in Birmingham in 1762, as a collective of professional period-instrument specialist musicians and we are delighted to welcome them back to the Old Chapel Court Concerts. Nicola Wemyss has spent most of her career working and recording in Europe with ensembles and conductors such as Les Arts Florissants, the Netherlands Bach Society, Frans Brüggen, Richard Egarr, TonKoopman and Roy Goodman.
Performers
Nicola Wemyss – Mezzo- Soprano
Kate Fawcett – Baroque Violin
