Amazing animal portraits!

Get up close up to a fox, a mole, hedgehog & owl. Children will use the museum’s British wildlife collection to create their own amazing animal portrait. Children will be encouraged to think about texture and colour and will be provided with different types of materials from which to create their picture.

The John Moore Museum’s new summer activities will be held in the recently restored Old Baptist Chapel. This fascinating heritage building off Church Street makes an ideal location for holiday activities. A fun summer activity for curious minds!

Tickets: £3 per child (accompanying adults FREE). You can drop in anytime between 10am and 12.30pm plus it includes FREE admission to the John Moore Museum for 1 child + 1 accompanying adult.

Tickets can be purchased on the door or in advance from the John Moore Museum (cash or cheque only).

Guardians are expected to remain with their children at all times.

Please wear appropriate clothing for activities which may well result in getting covered in glue and feathers!

Access & facilities

The chapel’s ground floor (where the activities will take place) is fully accessible for wheelchairs. There is a DDA-compliant toilet available within the building.

There is plenty of parking close by, the closest at Gander Lane Car Park.

Please don’t forget that the ticket also includes FREE admission to the main John Moore Museum for the child plus one accompanying adult. We are happy for this to be used at any time when the museum is open.
