The Lachrimae Cosort present music and songs from the time of Shakespeare for viols, lute, cittern and bandora and voice, together with extracts from his plays.
Music was very important to the Bard and his plays are full of texts and songs and references to instruments and singing. The six musicians of Lachrimae are all expert in playing instruments and music of Shakespeare’s time. For this special programme they are joined by two actors to provide the words around the music.
