A much admir’d treatise on the evolution and development of the dashing highwaymen of Gloucestershire and beyond. It outlines the history of these villains (both men and women) – who today bask in a reputation of being loveable, gallant rogues! It recounts the stories of some local highwaymen and considers the highwayman’s elevation to hero status via literature, art and song, all contained within a merry chase that leads us to a thrilling conclusion as to the ultimate demise of those who took to the road…
